I assume you mean 4.6.2 to 4.7 (-release?).

I have the same problem on my Inspiron 7500 since I
upgraded to 4.7. If I suspend-to-RAM, the pccard doesn't
come back after resume until I unplug it and plug it back in.
If I suspend-to-disk, everything works fine.

I just upgraded to 4.7-stable last night (= 4.8 prerelease) and
the problem still exists, although I built the kernel with the
same configuration file I used in 4.7 so I haven't played with
any new configuration options that may be available.

I'm using a Linksys wireless card (wi0 driver).

Yes, when it resumes, it seems to read null values for from the
pccard, so it doesn't get matched up with its driver.

The good news is that with 4.8-prerelease, the USB drive that
I borrowed works without having to mess with the driver code
as I did in 4.7 (to define hints for the specific device model). It
doesn't fix the pccard problem, but at least its something.

I'm not sure what you mean by hot reboot, but I've
encountered no problems with rebooting, e.g., with
shutdown -r now, or with powering down using shutdown -p now.
That part of my system seems to be working fine.

That is not something I've seen before.

In any case, I have no suggestions for improvement, at least
not with the pccard problem.
