If memory serves me, about a month ago I we determined it was a 686 cpu.
Take a look through the mailing list archives to see.

The other thing you can do is build a kernel for both, boot it, and see what
it reports.  To my understanding the real gain (speed wise) is the removal
of the 386 code.
