John Galbraith (re)wrote a gpib driver for National Instrument
cards.  You can find the details at
http://www.ece.arizona.edu/~john/drivers.html

I don't know if he newbus-ified his code, but I suspect it might
be easier to import and polish his code over the current gpib.c.
