No, not really.  This is a harmless bashism.  The problem is most
certainly your Java or javawmwrapper installation.  I cannot reproduce
this on my 5-STABLE system with:

javavmwrapper-2.0_3
jdk-1.4.2p7
linux-sun-jdk-1.4.2.07_1
