	cpio will take an arg, that is the name of a file which contains 
the files to be included in the cpio archive.  not that i have taken the 
plunge yet, but it seems the way to go.  we have using cpio since at 
least the 0.1 days of 386BSD. (gawd, i dont want to remember the number 
of times that i tyred 'cpio -pdalmu ....' to install)

	so gen the file of filenames and create the archives with '-i'.  ;)
