I have it running on a number of machines with good results.  Controllers I 
have it on are

atapci0: <Intel ICH2 ATA100 controller> port 0xf000-0xf00f at device 31.1 
on pci0
atapci0: <Intel PIIX4 ATA33 controller> port 0xb800-0xb80f at device 4.1 on 
pci0
atapci1: <HighPoint HPT374 ATA133 controller> (in RAID mode)

with various IDE type drives.  These are as of Sunday evening GMT -500 
(i.e. past the last commit)
