IMHO things seem to be getting better with respect to general tension 
and irritability within the project.  But things are slow.

This doesn't detract from the fact that I believe everyone should 
have a say on the mailing lists, irrespective of what they've done 
within recent memory (unless of course they've just consistently 
demonstrated that they're only good at talking rubbish...).

A response should only be made if it's relevant to the subject of 
the thread.  Publicly discarding someone's opinion because they 
haven't got a big enough presence in the commit stakes is simply 
``unfair''.
