I've seen something similar but haven't found out yet where the problem is.

The short answer is no. That patch will not be included in the vbox update.

We try to stay as close to the official code as possible and instead send
all patches upstream to get them included. So if that patch is stable it
should be send to vbox-dev@ and i'm sure aeichner will be glad to have a
look at it. I will talk to Fredrik if we can help in any way.
