I think you can try to look for a volunteer on ports@ maillist. But how 
I could undestand about 5 years ago, the best volunteer for your ideas 
is yourself.
Just read (1), learn(2) and ask(3).

(1) The Porter's Handbook
(2) look for examples in /usr/ports
(3) in ports@ maillist
