My $0.02...

I've got 4.3-BETA running fine on an PII-400MHz Dimension (by
no means a high-end machine).  Simply had to set "Plug and Play OS"
to no in the BIOS to get it to recognize PCI NIC and Soundblaster.
No SCSI in this box :(
