yeah, I was experiencing same thing like this. 
and I found out that sendmail is running at this port 587. 
if I shutdown sendmail, port 587 will not be listening. 
but i dont understand why sendmail need to run at port 25 and 587 
at the same time. 
I hope someone can help to explain.
