Use ISIS-FreeWAIS, available at ftp://ftp.nis.garr.it/pub/WAIS (or something like that. It does all that FreeWAIS 0.5 does plus ISIS access. There is a version labeled 'freeBSD' after downloading type 'make bsdi' (it's a modified BSDI Makefile). It works fine, but everyone is moving to Isite (http://cnidr.org) best regards, Pedro.
