This is odd; I have one of these cards, albeit *not* a pnp version.  I had
programmed it to use 0x300 and irq 10 and never had a single problem with
it (FBSD 2.2.8).  That card is presently being used on a Debian Linux box
so I can't easily mess with it on FBSD.
