On a Gateway 5300 running v4.2, I had to change the pccard_mem value 
from DEFAULT to 0xD400 to keep it from freezing when I inserted a PCCARD. 
Might be the same issue on your 2150.

In your /etc/rc.conf, add:

  pccard_mem=0xD400

and restart pccardd (or just reboot).
