 ;)

www.freebsdmall.com was around long before Wind River became
interested in FreeBSD and it will be around long after Wind River has
 finished the divestment of FreeBSD.

WRS announced that it was divesting its FreeBSD interests, and to that
end it solicited proposals from a number of businesses in the FreeBSD
and open-source arena to find the best home for the business. All of
the proposals that were received were of a high quality but the
successor company has not been identified yet. An announcement will
be made once everything is official. For the moment, not even the
employees know the names of the different companies involved.

Regardless of which company is actually sponsoring the mall next
month, the products and some number of the employees will continue to
make and sell FreeBSD related products and services. In the last few
weeks even, new products have been added to www.freebsdmall.com. =20

The FreeBSDMall still has boxed products at all of the major American
computer retail stores (CompUSA, Fry's, etc) and is by several orders
of magnitude the largest commercial distributor of FreeBSD software.

Walnut Creek CDROM and BSDi donated hundreds of thousands of dollars
of money and hardware to the FreeBSD Project and nothing is going to
change as Wind River exits the business. If anything, the FreeBSDMall
business will be going back to its roots as a Walnut Creek CDROM-like
business more in touch with the community.

I think thats about all I know at the moment. For the next several
months I will still be employed by Wind River. Eventually a different
name will be on my paychecks but I will still be doing the same job
I've been doing since 1997 at Walnut Creek CDROM.
