The WG311v3 card isn't Atheros, it looks like it may be a Marvell chip. 
The output of `pciconf -l` would be useful here.  Have you tried the ndis 
driver?

Atheros cards are always highly commended...  I've had good experience 
with Cisco cards. The WG311v1 is also an Atheros card, I believe.
