AH HA!  Hate to reply to my own message, esp so soon, but I found the
comment about it being unstable in the 2.2.8 release notes.  Although I have
searched a little further and cannot find the same comment in the 3.0Rnotes.

Oh well.  I'll stop posting now.  ;^)
