Just a quick thought: We're masquerading off a cable modem right now (different make/model but has it's own idiosyncracies). When we introduced the new box (would be performing the masquerading), we couldn't get it to go out at all. Double- and triple-checked the config; everything was cool. After searching everywhere we could think of to search, we came across an obscure thread that said that some cable modems store the MAC address of the computer connected to them. As the masquerading box was a different MAC address than the box formerly connected to it, it wouldn't go out no matter what we did. A quick reset of the cable modem's memory (accomplished via a little red button on the back), and we're now cruising the 'Net just fine. Don't know if this'll help; just want to provide this info after it took us so blasted long to find it! RAB P.S. We are using a Cox@Home Motorola "CyberSurfer" (I think that's the model's name anyway). Allen Cleveland wrote: > I did a search via deja news and found the following...
