lost & oasis are defined in host files on both machines.

***********************************
/etc/hosts on oasis (identical on lost)
***********************************
# hosts,v 1.5 1995/04/09 09:54:39 rgrimes Exp
127.0.0.1 localhost

204.57.120.200 oasis oasis.txdirect.net
204.57.120.201 lost lost.txdirect.net

***********************************
/etc/resolv.conf on oasis
***********************************
domain txdirect.net
nameserver	204.57.120.6
^^^^^^^^^^^^ This nameserver is indeed remote (ppp).
