Basically just start the deamon as root and it will listen to it's assigned 
by default port.
If you want to change the port on wich snmpd listens - look around the 
configuration
file for such option. If you have firewall - make appropriate rule set to 
allow in/out traffic
to this port. It will be usefull to know what firewall you use.
