He most likely is talking about the +++ATH0 problem with most newer
modems, there's a string to fix it that you can use as part of your
AT string to init the modem.  Unfortunatly I don't remeber the
string offhand, it may be ATS2=255, but I'm unsure.

Weird that it'd wind up in the Linux kernel. :)
