Hello,

This is the problem :

IBM PC Server 330, PPRO 200 with onboard SCSI controller.
SCSI : AIC-7880 Ultra Wide W Bios v 1.25), SCSI chip 7880p.
We start with visual, remove all the conflicting devices, save the
configuration and ...

...
chip0: <Intel 82440FX (Natoma) PCI and memory controller> rev 0x02 on
pci0.0.0
vga0: <Cirrus Logic GD5436 SVGA controller> rev 0x01 on pci0.7.0
chip1: <IBM 82351 PCI-PCI bridge> rev 0x01 on pci0.16.0
chip2: <Intel 82375EB PCI-EISA bridge> rev 0x15 on pci0.19.0
Probing for devices on PCI bus 1:
ahc0: <Adaptec aic7880 Ultra SCSI adapter> rev 0x00 int a irq 15 on pci1.4.0
ahc0: Illegal cable configuration!!. Only two connectors on the adapter may
be used at a time!
ahc0: aic 7880 Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 16/255 SCBs
lnc1: <PCNet/PCI Ethernet adapter> rev 0x16 int a irq 11 on pci1.5.0
Probing for devices on the ISA bus:
sc0 at 0x60-0x6f irq 1 on motherboard
sco: VGA color <4 virtual consoles, flags-0x0>
lpt0 at 0x3bc-0x3c3 irq 7 on isa
lpt0: Interrupt-driven port
lp0: TCP/IP capable interface
fdc0 at 0x3f0-0x3f7 irq 6 drq 2 on isa
fdc0: FIFO enabled, 8 bytes threshold
fd0: 1.44MB 3.5in
npx0 on motherboard
npx0: INT 16 interface
changing root device to fd0s4c
rootfs is 1440 Kbyte compiled in MFS
[the system stops here]

P.S.: We have tested the procedure with 2 IBM Servers. No problem with
2.2.6, Linux RH5 and NT4.0 (despite the message "Illegal cable
configuration"), same problem with 3.0 (CAM and no-CAM).

Any ideas ? Anyone with the same hardware (IBM PC Server 330) ?

TIA,
