Modify /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/Xservers and put a -bpp 32 on after the line
that begins with `:0' .    If that blows up, make sure there is a `Depth
32' section in your /etc/XF86Config.

it looks like one of your SCSI devices is unhappy.  Check your
termination. I'm pretty sure that that error is from the ahc device
(Adaptec).
