The reason I believe that it might be my modem is the fact that I just replaced my motherboard and CPU, and RAM and I'm still having problems. The only piece of hardware that has remained a constant is my modem. ~Ladd -----Original Message----- From: Griffin, Clarence <Clarence_Griffin@ed.gov> To: 'Ladd J Epp' <lje4q@bethelks.edu> Cc: 'freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG' <freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG> Date: Wednesday, February 24, 1999 5:52 PM Subject: RE: PPP Routing Question >>> snip >>> now everything should route and be running great, right? Well, not exactly. I am unable to ping any address outside of my computer. The packets go out but they never return (I can verify this by looking at my modem lights). <<<<<< I too am using the USR Sportster 28.8/33.6, VoiceFax External modem, and had similar problems with 2.2.8 release, which I felt were cause by a faulty install from a faulty CDROM. I reformatted the HD and re-installed the 2.2.6 version, and now can not get it to work. Am considering buying a different 56k V90, but have not yet decided on brand. Do you suspect that the USR is the problem? Have you any feedback that may indicate that? dg -----Original Message----- From: Ladd J Epp [mailto:lje4q@bethelks.edu] Sent: Wednesday, February 24, 1999 12:47 AM To: Griffin, Clarence Subject: Re: PPP Routing Question What type of Modem are you using?
