Hey, I was working on a script to be used on Solaris, FreeBSD, and Linux. Quickly I noticed that Linux and Solaris seem to lack a -v option. Further checking on the OpenGroup website showed that POSIX date does not support options we have in date(1). Patch attached, good/bad?
