This is most likely caused by a loss of interrupt
handling. Be it masked interrupts or the inability
to have the interrupt thread running.

I have some important improvements in the pipeline
that significantly improve stability. I'm doing a
final test and then I'll commit. It may address the
issue as a side-effect.
