This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0005_01C24147.71277550 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi, I'm trying to learn FreeBSD, and today in an attempt to access my = floppy drive I ran into this message: fd0c: hard error, reading fsbn 0 of 0-3 (No status) I encountered this message after two different attempts to mount the = drive. The first sequence of commands I used are: $ mkdir /my-mount-point $ mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /my-mount-point These instructions came from the FreeBSD handbook form the web, and were = not done as root user. The next instructions went like this: # /sbin/mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt This command came from a FreeBSD turotial from the web and was done = under as root. Both of these actions got me the same messages, and = trying to access my cdroms gave similar results. Any help will be = greatly appreciated as I have to spend a lot of time going from windows = to freeBSD, when I attempt to apply the things I read in the various = resources I have downloaded and stored in windows. =20 ------=_NextPart_000_0005_01C24147.71277550 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.2600.0" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Hi, I'm trying to learn FreeBSD, and = today in an=20 attempt to access my floppy drive I ran into this message:</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>fd0c: hard error, reading fsbn 0 of 0-3 = (No=20 status)</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>I encountered this message after two = different=20 attempts to mount the drive.
