Not sure... I had the update fail for me because the link was still there... 
Maybe, it is because I did not have the ETCSYMLINK option on, when I installed 
the earlier version of the package -- and created the symlink manually afterwards.

Whatever the reason the entry exists at install time, the port should not be 
failing to register itself (after the complete installation) because of it.
