Hi,

It sounds like your soundcard has an IRQ / DMA problem / conflict /
misconfiguration... DMA & IRQ's aren't used when playing back audio CD's
(normally) - which is why you've probably not noticed any problems... You
need to check the IRQ and DMA channel the soundcard is being assigned - and
make sure they don't conflict with anything else in the box etc.
