I asked about making a commit -- DES could have said "over my dead body"
and I would have known he was going to blow up and approach things a
different way.  Instead he referred me to someone else.  That person said
OK.  What else should I have done?  Written a contract in legalese that
DES agreed for something to happen, and FedEx'ed it to him?
