   I once would have agreed with you...until I discovered that the stats clock
behaves strangely on my ASUS motherboard - it stops when it loses an interrupt
(or one isn't properly acknowleged). I think this is caused by me using
DUMMY_NOPS in my kernel [the only thing I can see that would affect the RTC].
I need to investigate further to be certain.
