did you create a ppp.linkup?

provider:
	delete ALL
	add 0 0 HISADDR

also the set dial under the default needs to be in there

Default:

	set device /dev/cuaa1
	set dial "ABORT etc. etc. etc.

look at the FreeBSD manual it helps alot...
