The funny thing is that in the past ATI was very open-source friendly I heard, and better than nVidia. That may soon change now. Having owned 2 nVidia cards and using them with unix though, I don't see why people are having such a hard time getting the proprietary drivers running. Then again I don't use their bleeding edge cards, so I can't say how well those are supported under freebsd with their drivers. -Garrett
