I have no trouble running Emacs without -Y, though trying to paste
from Emacs to another X application or vice-versa kills the connection
(because it is not trusted to access the cut buffer).  Likewise, any
application that needs to grab the keyboard or the mouse
(i.e. anything that has pull-down menus) will fail.
