it kinda freezes on me that is the problem and X will not work with the
card that is in there which is a

I haven't had to do anything odd to the SRM, either. One thing that annoys me is if I shut the machine off I generally have to turn it off and on two or three times to get it going, but once it's running again everything works fine.
