Use the server log for checking where the client expects the data (add -S
to ftpd in /etc/inetd).
E.g. I have to mount the FreeBSD-CD to /var/ftp/pub/4.1-RELEASE for the
client to find it. Links to /cdrom won´t work.

Could be that you´re having similar problems.
