The following reply was made to PR ports/55888; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Joe Marcus Clarke <marcus@marcuscom.com> To: freebsd-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org, nicholas_wieland@yahoo.it Cc: Subject: Re: ports/55888: slrn kills gnome-terminal when executed from gnome-panel Date: Fri, 29 Aug 2003 17:04:18 -0400 --=-Pf66dg84RlnK82xmeVna Content-Type: text/plain Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable The problem is, in fact, with slrn. It wants the NNTPSERVER envirnment variable set, and this probably isn't being done when you login to GNOME. This launcher works fine for me: [Desktop Entry] Encoding=3DUTF-8 Version=3D1.0 Type=3DApplication Exec=3Dgnome-terminal -x env NNTPSERVER=3Dnews.cisco.com slrn TryExec=3D Icon=3D/usr/X11R6/share/gnome/pixmaps/gnome-news.png X-GNOME-DocPath=3D Terminal=3Dfalse Name[en_US]=3DSLRN GenericName[en_US]=3D Comment[en_US]=3DNews Reader Joe --=20 PGP Key : http://www.marcuscom.com/pgp.asc --=-Pf66dg84RlnK82xmeVna Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQA/T7/Sb2iPiv4Uz4cRAnlFAJ9+ddP4Rtt9fofoy65ISZZMmxqZTQCgkqje Hms5XmNuhiPog9t38xPeVww= =1SMv -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-Pf66dg84RlnK82xmeVna--
