Try
	cd /someplace
	tar cvfb /dev/rst0 126 somefiles

If you specify a "." in place of "somefiles", the whole directory tree
starting at "/someplace" will be written to tape.

You may also want to take a look at man tar, man mt, man dump, and
man st.
