Hello,
I'm running into problems with Highpoint 370 based IDE RAID under 4.4
RELEASE (will test 4.5 PRE as soon as it has finished building on the
machine in question). I simulated a broken HD by cutting power to it
and basically, I expected FreeBSD to either not care or maybe log
some
error message but surely not to complain about not being able to
write
to ar0, then resetting the remaining drive several times just to hang
then (well, I could type what I want on the console, but as soon as I
hit enter, it was frozen, only hard reset helped). I understand that
IDE RAID isn't completely supported (i.e. stuff like hot spare or on
the fly rebuild currently aren't implemented) but I really do think
that FreeBSD shouldn't crash if one of the disks of the array goes
down.

Comments? Time to file a PR?

Best regards,
 Gabriel
