I got this when compiling gcc32 on FreeBSD 5.4-STABLE

checking how to recognise dependant libraries... pass_all
checking for object suffix... configure: error: installation or=20
configuration problem; compiler does not work
gmake[1]: *** [configure-target-libstdc++-v3] Error 1
gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/lang/gcc32/work/build'
gmake: *** [bootstrap] Error 2
*** Error code 2

Stop in /usr/ports/lang/gcc32.
*** Error code 1
