Hi,

mfi is the old driver for 3GBit and 6GBit (Single Core) Raid Cards 
(102108 based)
mrsas is the newer driver for 6GBit (Dual Core) and 12GBit Cards (2208/ 
3008 based)

Different driver for different LSI Chipsets
