I went the other way, because "that's what PREFIX is for". I figured
there would be less pain involved in moving a system designed to be
moved than in moving random software that may or may not be so
designed. After having done so for a while, it's not at all clear that
was a correct decision. That this is the case says a lot about the
implementation of that design, none of it good.
