I submitted ports/10783 covering this about 2 weeks ago.  The port
on the 3.1-RELEASE CD is OK, but I can't get it to work with -CURRENT.
(I suspect it's been broken for some time).

I have tried mixing and matching the X11 libs and the problem is
in emacs, not X11.
