Not sure if this will help. 
I added this statement to my /etc/rc.conf file:

ldconfig_paths="/usr/lib/compat /usr/X11R6/lib /usr/local/lib"  #shared
lib search path

	seemed to help when I was getting similar
	error messages.

Hope this helps ...I'm sort of new to all this stuff.
Hoping to learn C one day !
