I'm actually trying to push PostgreSQL a little bit.  A while ago, I
developed a GIS-type system that displayed interactive maps.  The backend
I used was PostgreSQL since it had nice support for Geometric data types
and functions.

Pity we never sold it ... (GIS data is too blasted expensive).

I'll look into Interbase when I get the chance.
