No, ftp.freebsd.org is actually two servers. At the moment one of them
has the images, not the other:

[simon@eddie:ISO] host ftp.freebsd.org
ftp.freebsd.org has address 62.243.72.50
ftp.freebsd.org has address 204.152.184.73
ftp.freebsd.org has address 2001:4f8:0:2::e
[simon@eddie:ISO] ncftpls ftp://62.243.72.50/pub/FreeBSD/ISO-IMAGES-i386/5.=
2/
ncftpls: Could not change directory: server said: No such directory.
[simon@eddie:ISO] ncftpls ftp://204.152.184.73/pub/FreeBSD/ISO-IMAGES-i386/=
5.2/
5.2-BETA-i386-disc2.iso
5.2-BETA-i386-miniinst.iso
CHECKSUM.MD5
[simon@eddie:ISO]=20

BTW, ftp.se.freebsd.org also has them, which is probably closer to you :-).
