Hi, I'm on FreeBSD 5.1 with shell bash. As on my linux system, I try to avoid the bell in console mode (not X mode). I realized the following stages : ~/.inputrc : set bell-style visible ~/.bashrc (which is linked with a ~/.bash_profile): set bell-style visible Before to test, I quit my session, and then re open it. But it doesn't perfore !!!!! There is always the beeeeeep Why ? PS : whithin a X session, it's OK because I put the "xset b off" on my .xinitrc and .xsession Thanks a lot. -- "No guts No glory" =] PASSELAC Armand [= ( @ @ ) Ingenieur Systemes-Reseaux & Securite ORBYTES INGENIERIE
