Provide as much info as you can. Maybe someone else would be able to provide some help. Just a shot in the dark. Maybe your problem isn't source related. Try troubleshooting your network connection. See if the network card is up and running. Check if IPs are being assigned (ifconfig). Maybe there's a slight error in /etc/rc.conf. If you can ping localhost then you should also be able to ping NIC's IP. Maybe your firewall isn't playing nice. Those were just random thoughts.
