drwxr-xr-x 2 root wheel - 3072 May 14 11:34 modules

already did the
(with no errors)

make config
../../config/newkern
make depend

make.

make install
chflags noschg /kernel
chflags: /kernel: Operation not permitted
*** Error code 1 (ignored)
mv /kernel /kernel.old
mv: rename /kernel to /kernel.old: Operation not permitted
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/src/sys/compile/newkern

This is a second compile, had a scsi controller fail and put in a
different one that was not in the first kernel setup.

Was adaptec is now a symbios

Anybody have any ideas why I can't replace the old kernel with the
new
one.

I have tried to reboot and that don't help, do I need to boot -s ?

Thanks
