Greetings! Can You provide additional information, like UPS model used, software installed etc. For APC SmartUPS there r /usr/ports/sysutils/mgeupsd, that, accordingly to pkg-descr, may stop system when power fail and return it to normal state after. But I don't use it, so can't b sure.
